They just converted from a dollar movie theater this week, July 20th to be specific. Most regular movies are $5 before 6pm, and $8 after 6 pm. I like that they are trying to bring back affordable movies in the evenings.
This place used to be family-friendly, yes it's always been old but to watch a movie for a dollar it was worth it. Definitely not anymore now that AMC took over, tickets do not even show a theater number, it's $5 -$7 for a movie, its in worst condition that it was previously yes its possible. Definitely will not be back. Rather pay full price at another location.
To be fair, AMC has only owned this movie theater for 3 to 4 months if I remember correctly, so I'm sure they have many more changes to come. I have seen some changes over the last few months for the better, however I would've imagined many more would have been done before they converted back to a regular theater.
The movie looked fine and the ticket buying process was easy. It's easy to find your theater and the staff is helpful. The popcorn was on the stale side. The theater is also very small, like uncomfortably small. Your seat is very close to the one in front of you. It's also been a very long time since I went to a theater without stadium seating but you get what you pay for I guess. Great place to take kids who don't care about these kinds of things. Take your date to the nicer AMC in the mall, with recliners!
Used to go here when I was a teen (great memories) saw plenty of great movies with family & friends. Not longer the same atmosphere. Prices are went up but it's still cheaper than other theaters. A lot of the games don't work at times. Usually pretty lonely which is a plus, not as crowded. Would be nice to have them update games & lower prices a bit. Also more maintenance wouldn't hurt, bit of a smell due to it being an old cinema. I still go from time to time, one of my favorite theaters of all time! I can't believe they got rid of the games & replaced it with a damn bar! It's a theater, not a club! People do dumb things already, adding alcohol here was a stupid move if you think about customer safety instead of budget. #NODRUNKSPLEASE #SOBBERMOVIEGOERSONLY
At this point they have not made the changes necessary in the theater that will help them be successful. To convert from a dollar movie theater to a semi full price theater the place needs to be cleaned deeply and odors neutralized. The upholstery needs to be either cleaned or replaced.
The theater parking was great. The building is a little old and only a couple of up to date features inside (Coca-cola freestyle machine, online ticket pickup at the counter). The food is extremely expensive. I only got 2 sodas and a popcorn and it was about $18 about the same cost as my tickets. The theater was a little dirty but nothing extreme. Overall the experience was O.K, but there are better theaters around with more amenities.
