HOPE CHURCH, HAS BEEN HAVING A YEARLY HONOR OF THE MIGHTY IRVING TEXAS FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS. WE HONOR OUR FREEDOM AND HERO'S, THE FIRST RESPONDERS,NEVER BACK DOWN, AND ARE THE MEN WHO RUN INTO DANGER.
My name is Teresa Woods and I think that on 12/6/2011 you came to 3906 W. Airport Fwy after being called by one of my customers to help me, as I was having a stroke (which I later learned). On this day I clearly remember losing all control of the left side of my body, I was stagering and falling to the ground when you arrived. you helped me into the ambulance, checked my blood pressure, asked if I had high blood pressure....I answered no(never had that problem). You proceeded to tell me that my blood pressure was extremely high, helped me out of the ambulance, back into the office only to ask if I had someone who could come and take me home(NO TRANSPORT). Still unable to walk, I layed over in some chairs in the office and called my cousin in law who was right down the street. She came in less than 5 mins to rush me to Baylor of Irving because I was slurring and could not walk. Baylor diagnosed me with Sinusitis and sent me home(JUST AS YOU DID) with a blood clot on the right side of my brain. the next morning, of course I'm now in worse condition as my head is about to explode. My husband calls 911 and the EMT's took me to Parkland on 12/7/2011 at my husbands request. Parkland quickly and correctly diagnosed a stroke due to blood clot on my brain. Station #5 told my boss that "I was drunk". That was the worst experience of my life as I could have died because you guys cant recognize a "drunk" from someone who was having a stroke and needed immediate medical attention. I really hope and pray that for the sake of any and everyone you come in contact with, that you pay very close attention to the symptoms of any and everything........As I sit here right now typing...I'm crying just thinking about. I WASN'T DRUNK, I WAS HAVING A STROKE.
